Social Networking is a seriously growing media on the web that catches the attention of both civil and business users and makes a totally new approach to how we interact with friends and colleagues. Twitter the microblogging site got my attention recently because I digged and mixxed more and more stories about how good it is for finding new friends and as a business tool. It was not my first time on posting tweets, no, but simply I did not get what on earth is good in twitter.
I’m not the kind of man to tell the world what time I go to poop. Don’t get me wrong, there are people really updating their twitter site with such nonsenses. From this you can see that the public usues twitter as social uniform to tell the world “what are they doing”. As I said I’m not that kind of a guy and I find irritating making “friends” digital. I think life is real and people trend replacing that real with virtually real AKA Virtual Reality (VR).
Not agreed. Social Media or Social Networking is a good tool for businesses to harness, even for organizations, and of course for social interactions as well. But first of all not as a replacement of the reality and getting into the “social trance”.
So I did not send an “I go to poop” tweet as a test but “I liked your post about…” That’s the way I learnt to do it and it worked and still works. I’m not saying that you can’t add any private non-business related post – I also added recently “I eat orange” for my wife’s sake – but if you are business oriented you should focus on that part of the twitter myth that makes sense.

I have been watching people use various networks for years and for the average user their contributions and participations have multiple motivation factors. For the power user, the marketer, the brand, or the promoter it seems clear to me that their goal, even though they don’t actually know it or define it as such, is to get to the broadcast position.
Clay Shirky talks about the broadcast position in his book “Here Comes Everybody”. In his breakdown of the power law distribution and the impact it has on communication Shirky talks about how conversations shift. FULL ARTICLE +
