Sorry for my late posting again, I had to move once again, ISP change etc. Days lasted I went through all my emails, packed out, packed in, cable out, cable in, horrible. Anyway, I’m back and that’s a good news. And you folks are awesome. You still read my articles and I realised some more subscribers to my not finished blog that gives me a push to write. Still, I was really wondering… Why on earth is good to be a subscriber, not to the RSS feed but to a WP blog.
So this is what I did, I signed up myself under barnabasnagy as a guest-subscriber and tried to look around what can I get there. Actually, I’ve set up 2 subscriber accounts already weeks ago and the only thing I found there is nude wordpress.
Now, as my subscriber base boosted I really was keen on to find out why it is good to be a wordpress subscriber, so I logged in to my subsciber account again and I found the same blank emptiness. Googled “benefits of wordpress subscriber” gave me just the dry codex link and some RSS article that are not at all in my interest right now. Of course, I saw the stats when I logged in and I could play around with my profile and then I started to think. Take as granted, it is good thing to think. Seriously.
So when I was thinking, this came to my mind: I don’t need to fill in my details any time I leave a comment if I can log in. Well, I assume that’s it basically. Being a wordpress subscriber gives me the opportunity to be the part of a blog I like – kind of social networking feel – plus gives me stats overplus to the core element: ease of use.
Finally, I summed up that it is not a bad thing to put up a wordpress subscription button, or link to promote being a subscriber either on the top of the blog or under the comment section because by that I give a commenter an easy commenting interface, and most importantly I give a cool UX platform to those who are my active readers to take action and be involved in what I write. Ergo, I make an awesome good thing for my most precious readers, to those who not only read me as in case of an RSS reader but actively participate in my writing process. That is all about User Experience, isn’t it?
