It’s a common cliche question and the answer seems to be quite diverse and at the end of all somehow missing… I try to redefine the whole thing, because bloggers out there who give such advices are addicted to the money they get from you by reading their articles. So they tell you the same increasing game over and over again not telling you their real secrets. They just feed you bits by bits so that they can write about it again and again. Finally they go to bloggers Expo’s and tell the great deal. Not like that. I’m somehow unsatisfied with the cake I get.
I’ll be seriously truthful to you in this blog and maybe we (together) can figure out how to increase such figures increase of visitors, loyal readers, and increase the revenue.
So for now I use digg, mixx, reddit, yahoo buzz, tipd and stumble upon to buzz up my traffic. I especially speak about this very blog, barnabasnagy.net – I used these bookmarking sites for a time now for other blogs and for the same reason, but I feel wasting my times as I see 2 people coming from reddit, or 1 from yahoo, 5 from mixx and 1200 from techcrunch – I was not aware of that – zemanta gave me an advice to reblog a link about the xmas google logo and it increased my traffic to such a degree.
I spent hours linking my articles to those above services and this techcrunch trackback by zemanta and my commenting on the article on techrunch created such a boost. It was like 10 seconds, click on the reblog link in zemanta+go to the article and leaving a comment. In comparison to the hours I spent with the linking sites it’s quite a good deal. They also came back even today and I had still some traffic coming, so some were loyal.
So I’m passionate to hear what do you think and to tell me truthfully how you increase your traffic, and how you make your visitors to be loyal readers.
